Le Conquet // Ile d'Ouessant

During my trip to Ouessant Ilsand from Le Conquet ( near Brest) I did a special Bandscan
to analyze availability of british FM Stations in the northern part of Finistère.
As I receive BBC Radio 2 on 88,1 MHz at my french QTH likely every day without any fading
and while during my last stays at Brest and the northern and western sourrounding areas of
Brest I was always able to listen to british stations I thought it was quiet possible to receive
british stations every day over there.
I took advantage of the waiting time before boarding to Ouessant to do a quick bandscan at
Le Conquet. The harbour area is quiet good for a BS because majority of the Brest area
transmitting sites are quiet attenuated by relief.


At Ouessant Island I did another Bandscan with my SonyEricsson K800i to check if conditions would
be the same over there - and they are. Bandscan site was near Ouessant Traffic tower ( Stiff)




I only focussed on british stations but at my surprise Quimper Radiostations where mostly also
receivable over all Rosporden 90,7 Radio Ocean.

Three sites where received entirely at my surprise. With a maximum distance of 308km
